Did You Know?
Groundhog Day, celebrated February 2nd, comes from German folklore brought to Pennsylvania by settlers.
The day evolved from Candlemas traditions where animals like badgers predicted winter's length, with the groundhog becoming the North American prognosticator.
The earliest recorded reference to groundhog weather prediction in America appears in an 1840 Pennsylvania diary.
The first official Groundhog Day ceremony took place in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, on February 2, 1887, blending ancient weather lore with a specific rodent for a lighthearted forecast.
Canada adopted the tradition, with Wiarton Willie, in Wiarton Ontario, since 1956.

What is your guess as to when Spring will show up?
